Grow a Chicken Fighter How to Climb the TOWER
Push while clears are fast, stop at walls, skip beaten floors, then farm the PIT.
The TOWER is the progression check in Grow a Chicken Fighter. The PIT prints cash. The TOWER spends power and unlocks Rebirth floors. You climb one fighter at a time, the same rule as the PIT: send the single strongest bird, not a committee of Commons. Floors get harder as you go. Boss rooms hit harder still. Treat the TOWER as a series of walls, not a marathon you must finish in one login.
Climb while fights stay fast
If a floor dies in a few seconds, keep going. Fast clears mean your Speed, Power, and skill are ahead of the curve. That is when TOWER time is cheaper than PIT time — you are converting an already-strong bird into floors, cash, and Rebirth progress.
The moment a fight drags, or you lose, stop. A wall is information. It means feeding, fusion, or a better hatch is due — not twenty retries. Recall the bird, send it back to the PIT to rebuild the streak, and spend the cash on feeder upgrades or a Skill lock. Retrying the same wall with the same Common is how accounts stall for a week.
Stop at walls, then upgrade
A wall is any floor that is not a fast win. Do this loop:
- Return to the PIT and protect the streak for cash.
- Feed the carry. Feeding raises HP and Attack; do not wait for fusion to fix those.
- Fuse Speed and Power, and lock a boss skill if you have a donor. See the Fusion Guide.
- Push the TOWER again until the next wall.
Do not fuse your only Haunt or Thunder layer to “break” a floor. Duplicate the layer first. Ranked bases and skills live on the tier list. If the wall is still there after a real upgrade, you are looking at a Rebirth gate, not a stubborn floor.
Elevator skip
The elevator lets you skip floors you have already cleared so you do not replay the easy band after a death, a logout, or a Rebirth rebuild. Use it. Sitting through floors 1–10 after you have beaten 20 is a tax on your session. After Rebirth, your flock stays, so the same carry can elevator back toward the old wall much faster than the first climb. That speed is the point of the prestige.
If the elevator is not offering a floor you remember beating, you have not actually cleared it on this Rebirth cycle, or you are looking at a new Rebirth floor requirement. Read the Rebirth panel. The number on your screen is the gate, not a wiki guess.
Bosses versus PIT farming
Normal TOWER floors are stat checks. Boss floors are skill checks. A PIT streak bird with raw Attack can farm mid floors and still bounce off a boss that reflects, heals, or outspeeds. When you see a named or clearly heavier encounter, swap the plan:
- PIT farming — keep the streak, skip risky opponents, convert time into cash and eggs.
- Boss push — enter with the fused special already locked, full feed, and no second-rate bird “for luck.”
If the boss is not dying, the PIT is the correct mode. Boss retries without a new skill or a new base are entertainment, not progression. Cash from a long PIT streak buys the next hatch toward Doll Hen, 404 Chick, or Storm Colossus. That hatch is the real boss strategy.
Rebirth gates
Rebirth stays locked until your fighter reaches the floor shown on the Rebirth panel. That floor moves as your Rebirth count rises. Do not Rebirth the first time the button appears unless shop upgrades have already become slow. Clearing a gate is not the same as needing a reset. Spend leftover cash on eggs and fusion first. Your flock stays; cash and coop upgrades do not. Details live on the Rebirth page.
Arena unlocks at Rebirth 5. That is a TOWER-plus-prestige goal, not a first-day TOWER goal. Do not hold a Rebirth just to stare at Arena if the shop is still cheap — and do not Rebirth five times in a panic to “unlock PvP” with a Common. Build the Haunt / Thunder carry, then walk the gates.
Skill picks for bosses
Lock these onto Slot A before a boss wall:
- Voodoo (Doll Hen) on Reaper Rooster — reflect plus burst. Best default tanky closer.
- Cycle of Ash (Radiant Fenghuang) on 404 Chick — heal over time plus burst. Wins long boss rooms.
- Black Sun Cataclysm (Eclipse Hen) — current high-end boss and Arena special if you have the hen.
- Foxfire (Nine-Tail Hen) on Storm Colossus — wide burst for floors that punish single-target kits. Stormcall is the onboard Storm Colossus skill if Foxfire is not ready.
Do not lock Titan Mode or a random Common special “because it flashed.” Boss floors punish missing the reflect, the heal, or the nuke. After the lock, test in the PIT for a few fights so you know the cooldown, then elevator to the wall. If the boss still wins, you need a better base from the Haunt or Blazing pool, not a fifth retry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, fusion, eggs, and Tower climbs.
When should I stop climbing the TOWER?
Stop as soon as a floor drags or you lose. Return to the PIT, feed, fuse Speed and Power, then push again. Do not retry a wall with the same bird.
What is the elevator skip?
It lets you jump past floors you already cleared so you do not replay the easy band after a death, logout, or Rebirth rebuild. Use it every session.
Which skills should I bring to bosses?
Voodoo on Reaper Rooster, Cycle of Ash on 404 Chick, Black Sun Cataclysm on Eclipse Hen, or Foxfire on Storm Colossus. Lock the skill in fusion first.
How does the TOWER gate Rebirth?
Rebirth stays locked until you reach the floor on the Rebirth panel. That number rises as you Rebirth. Clearing it is not a reason to reset if the shop is still cheap.
Should I farm the PIT or push the TOWER?
Push the TOWER while fights stay fast. Farm the PIT at every wall and before boss rooms that need a new hatch or skill lock.
When does Arena unlock?
Arena unlocks at Rebirth 5, which itself requires TOWER floors. Build a real carry before you race that gate.
