Grow a Chicken Fighter How Fusion Works
Slot A is the base. Slot B is the donor. Lock Skill and Lays, then read the preview.
Fusion is how Grow a Chicken Fighter turns a decent PIT bird into a TOWER closer. You combine two chickens. Slot A is the base: the result keeps that name and the stats you already fed. Slot B is the donor: you take its skill, and sometimes its lays. Both birds must sit in the coop or inventory. A chicken currently fighting in the PIT or the TOWER cannot fuse — recall it first.
You can fuse any two chickens. Matching rarity is not required. The preview is the contract. If the panel does not show the skill you wanted, cancel.
Open the fusion menu
Tap Flock on the right. Select the Slot A chicken, press Fuse, then pick Slot B. A cash price appears. Fusion cost scales with level, so a high-level pair is expensive. Fuse when the skill is ready, not after you overfed a donor you plan to delete. Click through to the full panel. You see stats, level, skill, lays, and cosmetics for both sides. Read every row of the preview before you confirm. Unlocked fields are not guaranteed to copy from the donor.
Two free locks
You can lock color, hat, mask, feet, level, skill, and lays. Free accounts get two locks. Extra locks are Robux shop purchases such as Fusion Lock 3 or Fusion Master. There is no free-to-play path to more locks after the Incubator update.
Spend the two free locks in this order:
- Skill — always. This is the entire point of Slot B.
- Lays — if the donor is a 100% Thunder Egg, Haunt Egg, or Fortune Egg layer you want on the carry.
- Cosmetics (color, hat, mask, feet) — only if skill is already locked and lays do not matter.
- Level — almost never. Feeding raises level anyway.
Do not fuse to chase HP or Attack. Those climb from feeding. Fusion should move Speed and Power, plus the special. If the preview shows worse Speed or Power on the result, cancel and pick a different pair.
Protect route layers
Never put these in Slot B unless you have a duplicate parked: Cosmo Brat, Slugger Hen, Creepy Clown, Zombie Chick, Sergeant Hen, Baron Cluck, Golden Goose, NPC Chick (Cursed Egg), Bow Chick (Charm Egg), Astro Chick (Void Egg). One locked Lays transfer is enough; keep a copy laying. Who lays what is listed in the Egg Guide. A fused fighter that no longer lays Haunt Eggs is a trophy, not a farm.
Meta fusions to aim for
- Reaper Rooster + Voodoo — Slot A is Reaper Rooster (Haunt Egg, under 1%). Slot B is Doll Hen (Haunt Egg, about 2%) with Voodoo locked. This is the tanky PIT and TOWER carry: reflect plus burst on a Cosmic body.
- 404 Chick + Cycle of Ash — Slot A is 404 Chick (Cursed Egg under 1%, or a luckier Blazing Egg roll). Slot B is Radiant Fenghuang with Cycle of Ash locked. Damage carry that heals while it bursts. Strong on long TOWER bosses.
- Storm Colossus + Foxfire — Slot A is Storm Colossus (Colossus Egg, about 1%). Slot B is Nine-Tail Hen with Foxfire locked. Nine fireballs for high floors and later Arena. Stormcall on Storm Colossus is already strong; Foxfire is the upgrade when you have the donor.
Skill ranks live on the skills tier list. Base picks live on best fighters. Black Sun Cataclysm (Eclipse Hen) is another boss skill worth locking if that hen drops before Doll Hen.
Practical rules
Fuse duplicates and dead weight. Keep the PIT streak bird out of the menu until you have a replacement ready. If you only have one Haunt layer, do not donate it. Preview, lock, confirm, then test the result in the PIT before you spend more cash. If the special did not stick, you forgot the Skill lock — there is no undo.
A cheap early fuse is a Thunder Egg lays trait onto a bird you already like, so one chicken fights and still produces Thunder Eggs on a timer. A expensive late fuse is Reaper Rooster eating Doll Hen. Do the cheap fuse first so the flock keeps producing while you hunt the 2% Doll Hen and the sub-1% Reaper Rooster.
Do not bulk-fuse Commons “for luck.” Commons are Nest Egg fuel and PIT fodder, not a mutation lottery. Save cash for the pair that actually moves Speed, Power, or a named special. After a successful fuse, park the new bird if it now lays a better egg, or send it to the PIT if it is clearly the strongest fighter. Then go back to hatching the chain instead of fusing again immediately. Fusion is a scalpel, not a recycle bin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, fusion, eggs, and Tower climbs.
What is Slot A versus Slot B?
Slot A is the base that keeps the name and the stats you fed. Slot B is the donor for the skill and, if you lock it, the lays trait.
Which two locks should I use?
Lock Skill first. Lock Lays second if the donor is a 100% layer you want on the carry. Skip cosmetics and level until those two are safe.
Why not lock HP or Attack?
Feeding already raises HP and Attack. Fusion should move Speed, Power, and the special. A lock spent on Attack is a wasted lock.
What are the meta fusions?
Reaper Rooster with Voodoo, 404 Chick with Cycle of Ash, and Storm Colossus with Foxfire. Lock the skill from the donor every time.
Does fusion cost scale with level?
Yes. Fuse when the skill is ready instead of overfeeding a donor you plan to consume. Always read the cash price on the preview.
Can I fuse a chicken that is in the PIT or TOWER?
No. Both chickens must be in the coop or inventory. Recall the fighter, then open Flock and Fuse.
